Ms. Sharmeen Ahmed
Ms. Sharmeen Ahmed is a Senior Lecturer of the Department of Social Science and Humanities at Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB). She received her MA degree in Sociology from Boston University, USA. She has also obtained her M.S.S. and B.S.S (Hons.) degree in Sociology from the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. She has nine years of teaching and research experience in USA, Canada and Bangladesh and supervised individual research projects for international students. Ms. Ahmed has published papers on international journals. At IUB she teaches courses on introductory sociology, environmental sociology, research methodology, modern economies and global society. Currently she supervises the administrative and research activities of the Centre for Social Science Research at IUB. Her areas of interest includes: political sociology, social inequality, globalization, migration, gender and family relations, health and environment.
