Jessica Tartila Suma has completed her Masters in Development Studies (MDS) in the year 2011. She pursued her BSS (Honors) in Media and Communication from IUB in the year 2008. She has been working as a Lecturer in the Department of Media and Communication in the School of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB). She is also the Faculty Advisor of the International Affairs Club (IAC) and the Independent Photography Club (IPC). Her areas of interest cover interesting but challenging topics including Development Communication, Political Communication, Media and Development and Media’s Role during Crisis, Regional Peace and Conflict. At present she is working as a co-researcher for the Centre for Social Science Research and recently accomplished her research on “The Social Memory of Liberation War of 1971” - a frame analysis of the media coverage during the war period. Moreover, she has also been selected as a member of the Sub-project Management Team of a HEQEP-funded Sub-project titled “Pedagogical Development at Undergraduate and Master’s Level since July 2014. Suma also works as a senior news presenter in Boishakhi Television since August 2009.
